YouTube long-form pays creators the most per view: most channels earn about $2–$12 per 1,000 views, or roughly $2,000–$12,000 per million. TikTok's Creator Rewards Program pays about $0.40–$1.00 per 1,000 qualified views ($400–$1,000 per million), YouTube Shorts pays a few cents per 1,000, and Instagram generally doesn't pay per view at all. X pays through its Original Content Rewards program based on impressions from Premium users, without a published per-view rate. Brand deals are usually priced per post instead; on Transformer, you're paid per verified post, not per view.
Which platform pays creators the most?
These are third-party estimates; the platforms don't publish fixed rates, and pay varies by country, niche and video length.
| Platform program | Per 1,000 views | Per 1 million views | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube long-form (Partner Program) | ~$2–$12 | ~$2,000–$12,000 | Finance, business and tech can reach $8–$20+ per 1,000; YouTube shares about 55% of ad revenue |
| TikTok Creator Rewards | ~$0.40–$1.00 | ~$400–$1,000 | Only qualified views on videos over one minute count |
| YouTube Shorts | ~$0.02–$0.13 | ~$20–$130 | Pooled ad revenue |
| Instagram Reels bonuses | ~$0.01–$0.12 per 1,000 plays, when offered | ~$10–$120 | Invite-only and seasonal; no standing per-view pay |
| X Original Content Rewards | Not published | Not published | Based on impressions from Premium users; paid every two weeks |
So on per-view pay alone, YouTube long-form pays the most. Gigapay's June 2026 comparison estimates that 100,000 views earn roughly $200–$1,200 on YouTube long-form, $40–$100 on TikTok and $0–$12 on Instagram.
Can social media users get paid by platforms?
Yes, if they meet each platform's eligibility rules. On X, the Original Content Rewards program (which replaced Creator Revenue Sharing in September 2026) requires:
- an X Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription;
- more than 500 verified followers;
- more than 500,000 Home timeline impressions from verified users in the past 90 days (replies don't count);
- original content.
YouTube and TikTok have their own thresholds. For most creators, platform payouts are one income line among several; see How do content creators make money?
Can creators get paid by Instagram?
Not per view, in general. Instagram's payouts come from invite-only bonuses (Reels bonuses of roughly $0.01–$0.12 per 1,000 plays when they run), subscriptions, gifts during Lives and shopping affiliate links. Most Instagram creators earn mainly from brand deals.
How many views do you need to earn a monthly income?
Work backwards from the income you want:
Views needed per month = target income ÷ pay per 1,000 views × 1,000
Worked example, for $1,000 a month, using the ranges above:
| Platform | Assumed pay per 1,000 views | Views needed per month |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube long-form | $12 (high end) | about 83,000 |
| YouTube long-form | $2 (low end) | 500,000 |
| TikTok Creator Rewards | $1.00 | 1 million qualified views |
| TikTok Creator Rewards | $0.40 | 2.5 million qualified views |
| YouTube Shorts | $0.13 | about 7.7 million |
These are assumptions, not promises: your rate depends on your niche, your audience's country and the platform's rules that month. X can't be calculated this way because it doesn't publish a rate.
How much do creators earn per million views?
Using the same estimates: about $2,000–$12,000 on YouTube long-form, $400–$1,000 on TikTok (qualified views only), and roughly $20–$130 on YouTube Shorts. A million views can earn a creator anywhere from tens of dollars to over ten thousand, depending on the platform.
How much do influencers with 100,000 followers earn?
From brand deals, usually much more per post than from views. Gigapay puts Instagram sponsored posts at around $1,000–$5,000 for creators with 100,000 followers. On X, a common rule of thumb is about $2 per 1,000 followers per post (about $200 at 100,000). On Transformer, brands' default price for one X post from a creator with 100,000–499,999 followers is $625, of which the creator receives $500. Annual totals depend on how many deals you take. See How much do influencers charge per post?
Why don't brand deals pay per view?
Because the brand can't control or verify views in advance, and views alone don't say whether the post worked. Most sponsored posts are priced per post, based on the creator's audience, niche and format, sometimes with a commission on tracked sales. The creator knows what they'll earn before posting; the brand knows what it will spend.
How does pay work on Transformer?
Transformer is the agentic influencer marketplace: real creators, paid on verified posts. Run it from the dashboard or from your agent.
- Per verified post, on X: the offer states the payout up front. For example, $125 for a creator with 5,000–24,999 followers ($100 to you).
- Held before you post: the brand funds the offer; the money is released when your post is verified (live, your account, the link, the Paid partnership label).
- Plus commission, if offered: a share of tracked sales, split 80/20 like the payout.
- Views don't change the price. A post that does well can lead to the brand re-booking you.
To earn $1,000 a month from brand deals at those default prices, you'd need 10 posts at $100 to you (5,000–24,999 followers) or 2 posts at $500 (100,000–499,999), whatever the posts' views. Sign up with X to get offers.
